Congressman Peter Roskam met with about 50 constitutes Saturday at the Jewel on Stearns road in Bartlett. Roskam was extremely attuned to the conversations of the people and listened intently as they spoke. The Congressman was not in a hurry to get out or away, staying later than planned as he listened to every person who had something to say. The Congressman even posed for a couple of photos for a few people.
Conversations ranged from Healthcare, loss of jobs to foreign entities, high gas prices and to illegal immigration. Roskam let people know he had been working on some of the issues and although he did not have all of the answers he expressed the thought that those in attendance may have viable solutions to some of the issues. Several people brought up what they thought and they were duly noted. The Congressman campaigned on the issue of Illegal Immigration.
